Adding permanent make up to your skin may sound easy and convenient, but like any surgical procedure, there are risks.

Lovely red lips, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and flattering eyeliner. Permanent makeup holds the promise you’ll work all day,  go to the gym, dance all night and wake up with makeup- In the hands of the skilled person, the procedures are generally safe. But state regulatory agencies haven’t kept pace with the growth of the permanent makeup industry, and there are lots of unqualified people wielding needles.

Disappointing results

What if you walk into a salon wanting Jennifer Lopez’s eyebrows and come out with Groucho marks? The biggest risk in any cosmetic operation is disappointing results. Get it right the first time because the chance of getting it right the second time can be challenging. Correction work can be very difficult and at times not possible.

Do your homework

It is legal for someone to inject pigment into your skin  with only  a correspondence course. Some states have no regulations at all anyone can set up a shop. As a consumer make sure to Interview your practitioner. Find out how many procedures the practitioner has performed and how long they have been doing it. Don’t rely on a bunch of testimonials or pictures anybody can create a portfolio and steal pictures from a website. Physicians may not be the best practitioners,  they may know the science but not the artistry. The best choice might be a practice in which a nurse or Aesthetician works under the auspices of a physician.

Good work can make you,  bad  work can break you- Permanent makeup is intended to enhance your features , not take away from them .Keep in mind  a bad body tattoo can be Covered with clothing . But when it comes to your face you can’t wear a mask.
